Bio

I have been actively involved in the professional recruitment sector since 1987, owning and running recruitment agencies since 1993. I was formerly a Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

My current expertise is in online recruitment, where, in 2000, I established the UK's first comprehensive online portal to every recruitment resource, including recruitment agencies, employers, consultants, job-board and publications - www.alljobsUK.com.  I sold Alljobs in 2007 to Direct Recruit, who also operate 1Job.co.uk. I am responsible for Sales and Marketing for both websites.

I devised, and have continued to run the National Online Recruitment Awards (NORAs) since 2001.  I designed and developed the first universal iPhone App for UK jobseekers, called UK Jobs, in 2009.  In my spare time, I manage the biggest showband in Scotland, Big Vern ‘n’ the Shootahs.  Since their formation 22 years ago, the band have raised over £1.5m for charity.
